ID's
As per the St. Tammany Parish School Board policy, every junior high and high school student is required to wear a student ID at all times when on campus. Each student will be given a permanent picture ID and a school approved lanyard once ID’s are printed and made available. Every student is required to wear the ID on a lanyard around his/her neck in plain sight with the front visible at all times. Additionally, IDs will be used to access entrances around the school, as well as breakfast and lunch cards. The ID is not to be defaced or cut in any way (no stickers, pins, photos, or markings). Defaced and cut IDs will be taken away, the student will receive a discipline consequence, and he/she must purchase a replacement ID for $5 for the first 2 replacements, and $10 for any after that. Students who forget their IDs can purchase a temporary ID for $1 or 10 hawk bills in the front office. The temporary ID is only good for 1 day. Failure to have or purchase a permanent or temporary ID will result in the following consequence per nine-week period:
- 1st – 2nd Offenses - Infractions
- 3rd Offense – Detention
- 4th Offense and Above – Consequences will be determined by administration
Girls

Boys

Physical Education Uniform
All students are required to wear a PE uniform during their physical education classes. The uniform consists of a plain red shirt with royal blue shorts and a pair of sneakers. Students must have only their names clearly written on the back of their shirts. No other writing or pictures are allowed. Their shorts must also be labeled on the front of the left leg. Uniforms can be purchased through the PE teachers for $20 ($10 each piece).
Additional Uniform Information and Consequences for Uniform Violations
- Undergarments of any kind should not be visible. This includes compression shorts or other shorts worn underneath school pants.
- Students are prohibited from wearing uniforms which are oversized, baggy, sagging, or extremely tight-fitting.
- Coats, jackets, pullovers, and sweatshirts must be free of inappropriate logos. Jackets are defined as a long-sleeved, outer garments that can open completely in the front from top to bottom by means of zipper, buttons, or snaps. Shirts, vests, or cropped jackets are not acceptable as jackets. Students will be asked to remove inappropriate outerwear if it does not comply with the dress code policy.
- As per STPPS, coats, jackets, pullovers, and sweatshirts are not included as a part of our uniform; therefore, students can choose the color and style. A principal can, at his/her discretion, ask the students to remove outerwear upon entering a properly heated building or classroom.
- A school t-shirt may be purchased for $10, and may be worn any day of the week.
- School spirit shirts may be purchased for $15, and may be worn on Fridays.
- The official school sweatshirt may be purchased for $20 and may be worn any day of the week.
- Sports and cheerleader uniforms and club t-shirts may be worn on pre-approved, designated days.
- Head gear of any kind (hoodies included) must be removed when entering any building. Reminder: Per parish policy, caps and bandanas are not allowed on campus.
- Shorts or skirts must be at least fingertip length.
- Students who transfer to FJH from another school will have 10 days to acquire a uniform. A special fund has been set up for families who may need uniform assistance. A form can be obtained from the front office to verify all information.
- Hair should be clean and neatly groomed. Sculptured hair styles that include pictures, symbols, letters, numbers, or hair in curlers, rollers or excessively teased, etc., will not be permitted.
Infractions will be issued for uniform violations. Consequences are as follows:
1st offense: Students will be informed of the specific violation, issued an infraction, and parents will be contacted. If the student can become compliant with the dress code, then the student will be allowed to return to class. If the student cannot become compliant, then the student will be sent to Room 111 until compliance can be reached.
2nd offense: Students will be informed of the specific violation and an infraction will be issued.
3rd and subsequent: A student who does not comply with the dress code will be subject to administrative discipline, which can include suspension until compliance is reached. Subsequent violations will result in more serious consequences.
